"Credit goes to its rightful owner" DOES. NOT. COUNT. AS. CREDIT!

Credit is a name. Credit is a link. Don’t post artwork, graphics, fanfiction, ideas, or anything that you didn’t create yourself without providing a way to find the original creator, especially if the piece doesn’t have a watermark or other identifier on it! If someone can’t find the artist with the current credit that you have, it does not count as credit!

Back from my hiatus.

However, I’m still very wishy-washy about Bruce and this blog. For now, I’ll be foregoing para threads and focusing on icon chats to help my muse. Paras and long icon threads will remain in my drafts, but don’t expect replies for a while. If you’ve already been waiting ages for a reply — alwaysindanger and thekojicharcorner come to mind — I’m sorry! I haven’t forgotten about you; I’m just a bum. ;n;

Four more things:

[1] I’ll be posting a bunch of opens over the next couple days. I will also be posting greeters, starting with those who followed me during hiatus. Depending on the reception they get, I may or may not keep doing them. Consider this a test run.

[2] I’m looking for a main Loki. If it offers any incentive, I ship gammafrost with chemistry. Please keep in mind that Bruce is weird with Lokis — he will only interact with one at a time. I would appreciate the exclusivity in return. Send me a shout if you’re interested; we can try threading out something before making a decision. x

[3] I have a lot of inbox messages to attend to, and many of them are about plotting. I’m only human, so please be patient with me as I get to them.

[4] This is a friendly reminder that I have two Bruces on my “no list” — if you’re threading with one of them, I won’t thread with you. I’ve been lenient about this in the past, but not anymore. I will never play the ‘bitch card’ and make you choose between me or them; I’ll just unfollow and back off. If you have questions about this, chat me up (I’m friendly, I promise o3o), but I will not tolerate rudeness.

That’s about it! I hope you’re all having a great week. And to all the lost souls who wandered into this blog over the past couple days — welcome!

Demi

- Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles

Let’s do a headcanon thing.

1. What they smell like: In one word — natural. He has an earthy and somewhat spicy scent, which is low-key and not at all overpowering. Sometimes it will be contested by the aftershave he used that morning, but he stays away from strong-smelling varieties, as with cologne and fragrances — they are overpowering to him, especially with his keen sense of smell. People may also notice a rather sour and acidic scent, almost like pine, which is from how the radiation interacts with his body. It doesn’t go away, and it gets stronger when the radiation is active, so much that it’s capable of completely drowning out his more ‘natural’ body chemistry.

2. How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc.): Oftentimes, especially after a prolonged transformation or physical activity, he will just collapse in any position without caring about sheets or pillows. He’s learned not to be picky about bedding after being on the run for so many years. However, he will usually migrate into a fetal position once asleep, with his head resting along the crook of his elbow. He tends to stay up late and rise early, allowing a paltry 4-5 hours of rest per night, but this is plenty enough for him. He has incredibly vivid dreams, many of which are lucid.

4. How much time they spend getting ready every morning: He takes a good hour or so. The first fifteen minutes are spent hopping into the shower, getting dressed, and eating breakfast, and the rest is spent meditating and doing yoga. It’s a familiar routine and he hates when it’s upheaved.

5. Their favourite thing to collect: Vinyl and various handicrafts from his travels.

6. Left or right-handed: Right-handed. The Hulk is left-handed.

7. Religion (if any): Agnostic, though he was Catholic before the accident.

8. Favourite sport: Golf.

9. Favourite touristy thing to do when traveling: Learning about the culture that pertains to the location he’s at. He will also never go somewhere without trying the local dishes.

10. Favourite kind of weather: He’s fond of the weather that comes right after it rains — namely, when the sun is just reappearing, the air is laced with the smell of dew and grass, and when everything is damp. He finds it rejuvenating. However, he hates the actual rain that comes beforehand, even more so the storms that accompany them. It’s not smart to be around him during a thunderstorm.

11. A weird/obscure fear they have: He has a deep-seated fear of wasting his life. It’s been this way since the accident, and while it was quelled during his time with S.H.I.E.L.D. — because he could finally contribute to the world, both as a scientist and the Hulk — their collapse has once again left him scrambling for a purpose. It’s tough on him, because he’s well aware of his intellect and potential, but he lacks the means to put it to use. He could always approach new people for said means, but he’s terrified of making the same mistake he did with Ross.

12. The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: He always wins the high striker and milk bottles (physics ftw!) at carnivals, and he’s skilled at Space Invaders in the arcade.

“Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.”
- Victoria Schwab, Vicious

HEADCANON: TRANSPORTATION
Bruce doesn’t own a car. However, he does own a red Ducati 1098S — the eye-catching vehicle was a parting gift from Tony Stark, who ‘couldn’t stand the sight of him’ riding the Triumph Bonneville he’d brought to the battle of New York. Tony’s further rationale was that the Ducati would help him ‘blend in’ with the rest of the populace. Whether this was out of humour or genuine concern, Bruce still doesn’t know.
It’s been two years since New York, and while Bruce has driven it to death as a result of travelling, the bike is still in pristine condition. He won’t let it fall into disrepair; if a part starts having problems or fails, he will replace it at once.

“Monster" is derived from the Latin noun monstrum, "divine portent," itself formed on the root of the verb monere, "to warn." It came to refer to living things of anomalous shape or structure, or to fabulous creatures like the sphinx who were composed of strikingly incongruous parts, because the ancients considered the appearance of such beings to be a sign of some impending supernatural event. Monsters, like angels, functioned as messengers and heralds of the extraordinary. They served to announce impending revelation, saying, in effect, "pay attention; something of profound importance is happening.”
